Remarketing to customers who have previously engaged with your brand can lead to new purchases. Insider talked with the Glassers and Karasin to learn about remarketing strategies for small businesses on a budget. The Glassers agreed that showing new aspects of their brand to customers is an effective strategy when remarketing. "If you're wanting to start running remarketing ads, have a few different types of content and a few different kinds of audiences and see what's working and what's not," she said. To monitor ad performance effectively, Karasin suggested that nontechnical business owners get support in setting up their pixels and attribution tracking.

REUTERS/Carlos Osorio Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Sept 21 (Reuters) - A U.S. federal judge on Thursday said American cities may pursue class-action claims accusing eight large banks of driving up interest rates they paid on a popular municipal bond. Cities led by Baltimore, Philadelphia and San Diego accused the banks of colluding to raise rates on more than 12,000 variable-rate demand obligations (VRDOs) from 2008 to 2016. Cities accused the eight banks of conspiring not to compete for remarketing services, and artificially inflating rates by sharing information about bond inventories and planned rate changes. Think Sweden, where a nosedive in the local crown currency over the past 18 months is proving a blessing for used-car dealers and other exporters. Companies like KP Energy, which imports solar panels to sell to trade buyers, cite the damaging effects of higher purchase costs and rising interest rates, which hit household spending. "It impacts us a huge amount when the crown weakens against the euro and when the demand picture changes," its CEO Filip Wiqvist said. A Demoskop poll this week showed 42% would vote "No" to joining the euro, while 34% would support it. Believing the crown is around 20% undervalued, the Riksbank has hedged its own foreign currency exposure in anticipation of future strengthening.

A video of a fire burning vehicles in a parking lot is from April in Australia but is being shared online as if it were from the riots in France in late June and early July. Unrest and discontent due to the killing of a 17-year-old by police on June 27 led to riots across France. Examples of posts sharing a clip with the caption, “Rioters set fire to a parking lot filled with brand new vehicles” in Marseille, France can be seen (here) and (here). A search for the Pickles Bibra Lake branch on Google Maps leads to street view images of the storage yard that matches the clip shared on social media, viewable (tinyurl.com/yc8sbwd2). The video shows a fire at a car auction yard in Australia from April, not footage from the France riots in late June and early July.

Shareholders vote on March 14 on whether to approve the proposed deal. Ritchie Bros. said it "strongly disagree(s)" with the recommendations and urged shareholders to vote for the deal. The Ritchie Bros stock price climbed more than 5% in the first minutes of trading on Monday. The statement also said that Ritchie Bros. is committed to act in the best interest of all Ritchie Bros shareholders and build long-term value and drive superior shareholder returns. But a number of investors on both sides are pushing back on the deal, arguing it would distract Ritchie Bros from its core business and that it favors IAA shareholders without offering enough upside for RBA investors.

Oct 30 (Reuters) - China Southern Airlines Co Ltd (600029.SS) has cancelled plans for two Boeing Co (BA.N) 737 MAX flights on Sunday that would have represented the model's return to passenger flying in China after more than three years, according to the airline's website. China Southern had scheduled flights from its Guangzhou hub to Zhengzhou and Wuhan, Reuters reported on Thursday. The airline's website and flight tracking website FlightRadar24 showed the flights had been cancelled. China Southern did not respond immediately to a request for comment. Earlier this month, a 737 MAX flight by MIAT Mongolian Airlines landed in Guangzhou, marking the first commercial flight by the model in China since 2019.
More marketers are taking notice of California’s data privacy laws after the state said last month that cosmetics retailer Sephora had agreed to pay $1.2 million in penalties for alleged violations related to its targeted advertising practices. Some companies that have received letters have complied or begun working toward compliance, while others remain under investigation, the spokesperson said. Many companies delayed compliance because they disagree with that definition and don’t want to tell consumers that they sell data, he said. The state’s determination that Sephora didn’t process global opt-out requests played a key role in the attorney general’s decision to take action. “People see a headline about Sephora and everyone thinks they sold data,” she said.
